WELLTON, Arizona, October 23, 2019 ─ The Wellton Police Department, in Arizona, currently has 7 officers wearing body cameras. Patrol Support Officer David Williams says his department was fortunate enough to have WOLFCOM body cameras donated to them by the local community.

“The incentive to use WOLFCOM was they had the community donation, which allowed the community to donate the money so we could get it [Vision Body Cameras]. So there was no initial out of pocket expense to us. It was just easy and convenient and there was no out of pocket for the department, ‘case we are a small department, a small agency, in a small town, and we don’t have the revenues coming in that can support such a big purchase”

FORT VALLEY, GA, October 18th, 2019 ─ The Fort Valley State University Police Department currently has 28 body cameras deployed and Lieutenant Tatotshia Grier has recently shared their experience with WOLFCOM body cameras and evidence management system. These 28 cameras are split between 14 certified officers and 14 security officers.

According to the Lieutenant, the decision to purchase body cameras was preventive. “We wanted to be protected from the public and we also wanted the public to be protected. Whatever kind of interaction that we have with people, in general, we wanted to be covered, both sides.”

NORWAY, Michigan, October 15th, 2019 ─ The Norway Police Department, in Michigan, currently has 6 body cameras deployed and Chief of Police James Shafer says WOLFCOM body cameras help better officers.

As a small law enforcement agency, the Chief says they have to be extra careful when it comes to credibility. “We had seen there’s a lot of issues in the media and wherever else, and we’re a small agency and a lot of times my officers work alone, so it adds credibility to the officers,” said James. “Not that my none of my officers were credible but if there are 2 officers as opposed to one, it’s a lot more believable. When the body camera is there, there are no ifs, ands, or buts,” he added.

Columbia, South Carolina, October 15th, 2019 – The Columbia College Police Department currently has 5 body cameras deployed and the Chief of Police Wayne Jamison has shared their experience with WOLFCOM body cameras and evidence management system.

According to the Chief, “it was required by a state law that all law enforcement agencies in South Carolina must have body cameras. So the state gave us a grant, we had no trouble at all.” Wayne then added, “we just needed to find a good company and that was you guys.”

Osage City, KS, October 14th, 2019 – The Osage City Police Department currently has 6 officers using body cameras and Chief Fred Nech has recently shared their experience with WOLFCOM body cameras and evidence management system.

According to the Chief, the decision to start a body camera program was preventive. “All along throughout my career in law enforcement, I’ve seen people making false claims against officers, for either monetary reasons or just to try to get even or something. That was the motivating factor,” said Fred.

Ward, AR, October 14th, 2019 – The City of Ward Police Department currently uses 8 body cameras and Chief Steve Benton has shared their experience with WOLFCOM body cameras and evidence management software.

According to Chief Benton, the decision to start a body camera program, many years ago, was preventive. “We bought them [body cameras] many, many years ago just, to be honest, to protect the officers, plus make sure everything was recorded and as accurate as we presented,” said the Chief.

Phelan, CA, October 9th, 2019 – The Snowline School District Police Department currently has 5 officers wearing body cameras and Chief Bryce Mibeck has recently shared his department’s experience with WOLFCOM body cameras and evidence management software.

Although not all officers were happy with implementing body cameras, most were on board with the program. “One or two of them were kinda like ‘why are we being second-guessed?’ but the others were actually very positive, very happy about it. Because this can protect them. There really hasn’t been any real hatred of them, everybody is using them. It works,” said the Chief.

Houston, TX, October 3, 2019 ─ North Channel Emergency Medical Services currently has 48 professionals wearing WOLFCOM body cameras and Deputy Director Jay Barkdull says they understand what these devices can do for them. Much like the South Lake EMS department, North Channel is an industry pioneer when it comes to using body cameras. They used in-unit cameras for many years prior to using body-worn cameras, further proving how much they value accountability and transparency between their professionals and patients.

North Channel has been using in-unit cameras for over 10 years but they realized they needed a better alternative. “By watching those [in-unit] videos, we saw we were missing valid information that was happening inside the house or inside the medical center. So, the decision was to migrate to include body cameras and integrate it with our in-unit video,” said Jay.

Houston, TX, September 23, 2019 – Paramedic Supervisor Billy Slagle from South Lake Houston Emergency Medical Service has recently shared his department’s experience with the WOLFCOM Vision Body Cameras and WOLFCOM Evidence Management System. South Lake EMS currently has a total of 30 professionals using WOLFCOM body cameras.

According to Billy, a nearby EMS department uses WOLFCOM body cameras and told them about it. “One of our neighboring departments was using them [Vision body cameras] and we liked the feedback for it,” said Mr. Slagle. “We liked the cameras that they used, we liked the setup that they used, so we went ahead and got them,” he added.
