New Mexico Highlands University Police Chooses WOLFCOM® Police Body Cameras

LAS VEGAS, NM- The New Mexico Highlands University Police Department recently purchased 8 WOLFCOM VISION Police Body Cameras. The department had previously purchased 4 WOLFCOM 3RD EYE police body cameras. The department has five police officers, six security officers and each one has been issued their own body camera.

“When it comes to selecting police equipment, quality matters, and we at WOLFCOM work hard to design and manufacture the best in police body camera technology. We know the WOLFCOM VISION will serve the New Mexico Highlands University Police Department reliably with their body camera goals,” said WOLFCOM FOUNDER Peter Austin Onruang.

Officer Clarence Romero helped his department research police body cameras. “We like the WOLFCOM system and the cameras…. We used to have the Scorpion police body cameras, but the issue was that those body cameras were not very user friendly when it came to downloading video and we also found that they weren’t reliable when charging…they weren’t holding a charge. I started shopping around for replacements and I talked with and got feedback from local departments that use the WOLFCOM body cameras and they recommended them…We like them so far, and like that they’re small,” said Romero.

“We’re a small department so price was also a big factor… I liked the WOLFCOM’s GPS capability. We’re developing a management system that will let us track our officers by GPS. We also really like the fact that you can take discreet still pictures while recording with the camera… and that you can use it as a still camera to take pictures of a scene or a license plate. We also really liked the night vision on the 3RD EYE,” said Ramero.
